Shopping at Columbia
Shopping around Columbia is very enjoyable and is easy to reach. Shopping
malls range from downtown and strip shopping centers to retail stores
in Five Points, St. Andrews, Irmo, Trangle City in West Columbia, Forest
Acres, and lower Richland. Richland Fashion Mall has three large anchor
stores and is located at Beltline Blvd. and Forest Drive in Forest Acres.
Several blockes away on Forest Drive is Trenholm Plaza shopping center,
which has variety of specialty stores. Also, on Forest Drive at I-77 is
East Forest Plaza, anchored by Wal-Mart, a large combination retail and
grocery store.
Columbia Mall, near I-20, along Two Notch Road (U.S. #1 north), is located
in the northeast area of Columbia and has several large stores. There
are nearby smaller shopping complexes. Dutch Square mall is located in
St. Andrews, northwest of Columbia, near the interchanges of I-20, I-26,
Broad River and Bush River roads. In the vicinity of Dutch Square are
Boozer Shopping Center, Bush River mall and Market Pointe.
Columbia's newest and largest mall is Columbiana Centre, located in the
Harbison area which is the most dynamic area. It has major stores, a carousel
children love to ride, and a large food court. On the east side of town
on Garner Ferry Road is Woodhill Mall, Columbia East, and Landmark Square.
Several miles away in Shandon is Rosewood Shopping Center, and not far
from there, Devine Street stores, with a number of apecialty shops.
